A Poem in Praise of Siddiq al-Akbar

منقبتِ صدیقِ اکبر

What follows is the author's own poem (manqabat) in praise of Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). Its couplets are then taken up, one by one, in the body of the treatise, where each is paired with a Qur'anic verse or a Prophetic tradition and a short explanation.

محمدؐ مصطفیٰ کا جانشیں صدیقِ اکبرؓ ہے

The successor of Muhammad al-Mustafa (peace be upon him) is Siddiq al-Akbar (the Greatest Truthful One).

علی مرتضیٰؐ کے قول پر حسرتؔ کلے ایماں ۔ محمدؐ مصطفیٰ کا جانشیں صدیقِ اکبرؓ ہے

Upon the word of Sayyiduna Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his face), O Hasrat, let faith blossom: the successor of Muhammad al-Mustafa is Siddiq al-Akbar. (This is the refrain of the poem, gathered together at its close.)
