On rendering this work into English

This translation of Ad-Deen Part 1 (Kitab al-Ilm — The Book of Knowledge) was prepared through AI-assisted vision-OCR of the original Urdu-Arabic printed edition, followed by a verbatim English translation of the Urdu commentary text. The resulting draft was then edited and reviewed by Muhammad Ahmad Ghazi, MD, of Cary, North Carolina, to ensure fidelity to the author's voice and the accuracy of Islamic terminology.

The author, Hazrat al-Allamah Bahrul Uloom Muhammad Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui Hasrat (RH), 1288–1381 AH (1871–1962 CE), was a towering scholar of Hadith, Fiqh, Quranic exegesis, and Sufism. He served as Professor of Hadith and Head of the Department of Theology at Osmania University, Hyderabad Deccan. This work, originally written in Arabic and serialized in the monthly journal Al-Qadeer, demonstrates that the Hanafi school of thought is firmly grounded in the Qur'an and the authenticated Sunnah.

The book follows the structure of the famous Hadith of Jibreel (AS), beginning with Kitab al-Ilm — the Book of Knowledge — before proceeding to Iman, Islam, and Ihsan. This first part presents nineteen chapters (babs) covering the excellence of knowledge, the etiquettes of learning and teaching, the authority of the Qur'an and Sunnah, the laws of innovation (bid'ah), hadith sciences, and the principles of Islamic jurisprudence.

Honorific conventions used throughout: ﷺ (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam — peace and blessings be upon him) follows the name of the Prophet Muhammad; (RA) (Radi Allahu Anhu/Anha — may Allah be pleased with him/her) follows the names of Companions (Sahaba); (RH) (Rahmatullah Alayh — may Allah have mercy on him) follows the names of later scholars; and (AS) (Alayhis Salam — peace be upon him) follows the names of other prophets.

Arabic Qur'anic verses and hadith texts are preserved in their original Arabic script, with English translations presented in italics immediately beneath each passage. Vocabulary explanations (word-by-word analyses of Arabic text) are retained as they form an integral part of the original pedagogical style.
