Compound Things (Murakkabāt): These are things in which the Divine Essence and pure attributes are never manifested — because the compound thing is a notionally-created composite substance and is subject to the contingent accidents, since the basis is that the compound thing has no simple attribute that is a manifestation of itself but rather is always apparent as created and contingent — and it cannot be composite — further detail on the manifestation of attributes will follow.
Minerals — Plants — Animals — Jinn: (Already treated above.) In Minerals there is extension — length, breadth, and depth — in them is growth and form but no apparent external life.
The Human Being (Insān): The human being traverses the arc of possibility from its beginning (mabdā') to its end (ma'ād) — understanding the levels — the arc of existence and being moves along the axis of descending-ascending. The human being's circle of existence's arc of descent-ascent is the most intense — the person is also the most honored and distinguished above the angels in terms of spiritual potential. The realities of things (haqā'iq al-ashyā') are known to the human being through the knowledge of the Divine — to be distinguished from things by their attributes — to understand one's own nothingness (ta'ammuz dhātī) — to annihilate one's own acts and attributes and essence and to remain truly as a human being — the work of the human being and nothing but the human being.
