Bab Kawnuhu Afdhal al-Anbiya
He ﷺ is the Most Excellent of Prophets and Messengers
this is the condition of faith, and in reality, this is the state of faith. Up to the point that it reaches perfection. And I asked you, did you fight a war with them? So you said that you fought a war with them. Sometimes they defeat you and sometimes you defeat them. Prophets are tested in this way, but the final outcome is theirs. I asked you, does he break promises, betray? So you said that he does not betray. Prophets are exactly like this. They do not betray. I asked you if anyone had said such a thing before this, and you claimed that no. So I thought that if someone had said such a thing before, I would have said that he is following another's path and repeating what someone else had said. Abu Sufyan said. Then Heraclius asked, 'What does he command you to do?' Abu Sufyan etc. said, 'He commands us to perform Salah, give Zakat, maintain family ties, and remain chaste.' Heraclius said, 'If what you say is true, then he is undoubtedly a Prophet. I knew that a Prophet was coming, but I did not think he would be from among you. If I knew that I could reach him safely, I would long to meet him. If I were near him, I would certainly wash his feet, and his kingdom will reach this place where my feet are.' Then the letter of the Prophet ﷺ was sent for and read.
*Bab fi kawnih sallallahu alayhi wa sallam afdalul anbiya' wal rusul wa annahu sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sayyidu wuldi Adam* This chapter is in the description that the Prophet ﷺ is superior to all prophets and messengers, and that he is the leader of the children of Adam.
Translation:- And Allah Almighty states: (O Prophet!) The grace of Allah upon you is immense.*

Translation:- These are the Messengers. We have given excellence to some of them over others, (made them distinguished). Some of them Allah spoke to, and He raised some of them in degrees.
Gentlemen! Just one verse before this, Allah Almighty affirmed His presence with the attribution "وَ إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ" (And indeed you are from the Messengers). He affirmed the messengership of the Prophet ﷺ Himself. Then in this sequence, He affirmed the rank of the Prophet ﷺ and other messengers, meaning "تِلْكَ" (these) is the subject and "الرُّسُلُ" (the Messengers) is the predicate. Some prophets have been given excellence over others. Among all of them, the primary individual and the one intended is the Prophet Muhammad the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Among them, some are clarified further, "مِنْهُمْ مَّنْ كَلَّمَ اللَّهُ". Meaning among them are those to whom Allah spoke. Allah Almighty's speaking occurs in three ways. (1) (In that state) a kind of selflessness overtakes one, and trembling occurs in the body, which Hazrat Aisha (RA) expressed as "صَلْصَلَةُ الْجَرَسِ". In this state, your breathing would become fast and you would perspire heavily. This condition was very heavy on the Prophet ﷺ. (2) Revelation, inner inspiration, from behind a veil. (3) An angel appearing in human form. Sometimes Jibreel Amin would come in the form of a Bedouin and the Sahaba would perceive him. Remember! The excellence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is established. But this thought must remain in the reverence of the prophets that there should be no deficiency of any kind. Giving excellence to one prophet over another should not lead to the disparagement of the other prophet. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "لَا تُفَضِّلُونِي عَلَى يُونُسَ ابْنِ مَتَّى" meaning do not give me excellence over Yunus. The intention is that the other prophet should not be disparaged. Today, in the speech of the ignorant, the names of Hazrat Isa (AS), Yusuf (AS), and Musa (AS) are severely disparaged. They themselves claim superiority for those prophets. Remember! The dignity of the prophets is very high, and disparaging them endangers one's faith. وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : إِنَّ فَضْلَهُ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ كَبِيرًا ۔ (آیت ۸۷ ۔ بنی اسرائیل) *Translation:- And Allah Almighty states: Undoubtedly, His grace upon you is immense.*
We have elevated your remembrance for you. The drums of your name and fame will be beaten.* Gentlemen! What could be greater elevation than this, that until the Day of Judgment, in every part of the world, testimony is given five times daily with a loud voice that "أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ". It is a testimony to this matter that undoubtedly Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Remember! If someone recites the entire Kalima "لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ" but does not say this, he cannot be a Muslim. It is essential for him to become a Muslim that he testifies to the prophethood of Muhammad and recognizes the strict necessity of giving it from his heart. Today, all the unity and mutual impact among Muslims

and even non-Muslims, idolaters are proponents of monotheism. They present meanings regarding their idols, but this statement does not make them worthy of being called Muslims. Yes! After saying "مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ", they can become bearers of Islam. Also remember this! That the Kalima "Muhammad" presents the picture of the attribution of messengership and Allah at exactly the same time. The person whose end is upon "مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ" (these words) undoubtedly goes to Paradise. In the end of "مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ", there is "اللَّهُ", and his end was upon it. Meaning through the grace of Muhammad ﷺ, he got the name of Allah, and on this his breath came to an end.
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُمْ مِّنْ كِتٰبٍ وَّحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَ لَتَنْصُرُنَّهُ ۔ (آیت ۸۱ ۔ ال عمران) *Translation:- And this is also the statement of Allah Almighty that "And remember that event when Allah took a firm covenant from the Prophets that when I bestow upon you the Book and Wisdom, then a Messenger comes to you who confirms the religion and the Messenger you have, then you must believe in him and you must support him."* Gentlemen! The world we are in, its name is "Alam-e-Shahadat" (the visible world), it is "Alam-e-Nasut" (the physical realm). Above this is "Alam-e-Mithal" (the world of forms). The souls of everyone are gathered there. Because that Alam-e-Mithal is not subject to time, the previous and subsequent are all gathered in that world. In this Alam-e-Mithal, Allah Almighty took a covenant from all the prophets that when the era of the appearance of Muhammad the Messenger of Allah ﷺ comes, and you reach that era, then all of you must revere the Master of the Prophets, bring faith in him, and help him. All the prophets acknowledged this. When the prophets acknowledged the supremacy of the Master of the Prophets, and pledged to bring faith in him and support him, then it is necessary for their followers to believe in the prophesied Master of the Prophets according to their prophets, acknowledge his prophethood, obey him, and follow his command. Thus, not acknowledging Muhammad the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and disobeying him is disobedience to all the prophets.
We have sent you to all people as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner (to make them fear)."*
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّنْ رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلٰكِنْ رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ ۔ (آیت ۴۰ ۔ الاحزاب) *Translation:- And Allah Almighty states that "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets."*

Before the Prophet ﷺ, there were male children of Bibi Khadija (RA), and because of the attribution to Hazrat Qasim, the Prophet's ﷺ kunya was Abu al-Qasim. It was the age of suckling when they learned to walk on their feet, they passed away. The second prince from Bibi Khadija was also born. He also passed away at that same age. The third prince was Hazrat Ibrahim who was from the womb of Bibi Maria Qibtiyya. He also passed away at the age of (18) months. Thus, all three princes passed away in the age of suckling. No one could reach the age of manhood. Therefore, the Prophet ﷺ is not the father of any man. Your lineage continues from the youngest princess Syeda Fatima al-Zahra (AS)'s princes Imam Hasan and Imam Husain. That is why they are called "Aal-e-Nabi, Awlad-e-Ali". We have sent you as a mercy for all the worlds."* Gentlemen! In the propagation of the message, in the religion of Muhammad, there is no interference of color, language, family, or territory. The door of Muhammadan mercy is open for everyone. Anyone can enter Islam. Recite the Kalima of Muhammad, become a Muslim, become a people. Everyone will become one, then there will be peace in the world. You are the best community raised for the people."* Gentlemen! A beloved's every thing is beloved and desirable. Thus, by the grace of the Master, the slaves are also a "Khayr" (best) community, endowed with distinction and excellence! Compared to all the previous ones, why are they the best community from the last ones? The past ummahs have passed away before.
يَقْرَعُ قَرْعًا: to knock on the door, to rattle.
Translation:- Hazrat Anas (RA) narrated that he said, the accepted Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated that "Among all the prophets, I will have the most followers on the Day of Judgment. And I am the first person who will knock on the door of Paradise to have it opened and enter inside."
شَافِعٍ: one who intercedes. مُشَفَّعٍ: one whose intercession is accepted.
---
Translation:- It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA), he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated "I am the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Judgment. I am the first for whom the grave will split open (I will emerge first from all), I will be the first to intercede, and my intercession will be accepted first." (This hadith is in Muslim).
I was given, I was bestowed. خَمْسًا: five things. لَمْ يُعْطَهُنَّ اَحَدٌ: no one was given them, no one was bestowed them. مَسِيرَةَ: distance, length. شَهْرٍ: month. اَدْرَكَتْهُ: found him. اُحِلَّتْ: became lawful, became permissible. الْغَنَائِمُ: (plural of ghaneema) spoils of war, the wealth of enemies that Muslims obtain in battle from disbelievers.
Translation:- Hazrat Jabir (RA) narrated, he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated "I have been granted five things which were not granted to anyone before me. (1) I am given victory by awe (fear) from a distance of one month's journey over the enemies. (2) The entire earth has been made a mosque and pure for me (wherever you want, perform ablution). So whoever from my ummah finds the time for prayer, he should pray right there. (3) The spoils of war have been made lawful for me. They were never lawful for anyone before me. (4) I have been granted the right of intercession. (5) Previously a prophet was sent specifically to his own people. I am sent as a prophet to all people." (This hadith is agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim, and this hadith is in Mishkat).
كَلِمَ: plural of kalimah. جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ: words few in number, but vast in meaning. خُتِمَ: meaning finished with me, sealed.
Translation:- It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA), he said, indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated
---
"I have been granted superiority over the prophets in six things. (1) I have been granted comprehensive words (jawami' al-kalim) (where words are few but meanings are extensive). (2) I have been supported with awe (my fear settles in the hearts of enemies from a month's distance). (3) The spoils of war have been made lawful for me. (4) The entire earth has been made a mosque and pure for me. (5) I have been sent to all creation (from beginning to end). (6) The line of prophets has been sealed with me." (This hadith is in Muslim).
Gentlemen! Out of the six things mentioned in this hadith, there are five identical things that were just mentioned in the previous hadith of Hazrat Jabir. The difference is only that there "intercession" was present, and here "sealed with me" is present. Meaning, there is intercession in the previous hadith and it is absent here, and there is finality of prophethood in this hadith which was not in the previous hadith. And here one other extra thing is the bestowal of comprehensive words. Regarding this bestowal of comprehensive words, consider this! That Allah Almighty commanded the entire world to offer prayers, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ established it. It was mentioned in the previous hadith that the entire earth has been made pure and a mosque. So what difficulty is left in fulfilling the command of prayer? As long as one gets water, one should perform ablution. If water is not available, then one should perform tayammum. He is a Muslim and the entire earth of Allah is for him. Also remember that if there is a mosque somewhere and someone does not let him pray there or someone says "our mosque, your mosque", then such a thing has no truth in the court of Allah.
مَوْضِعَ لَبِنَةٍ: place of a brick, a gap the size of one brick. زَاوِيَةٍ: corner. يَطُوفُونَ: they go round, they circumambulate. يَعْجَبُونَ: they wonder, they are amazed. هَلَّا: why not. اللَّبِنَةُ: that brick.
Translation:- Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrated, he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated "My example and the example of the prophets before me is like a person who built a house. Then he made it very beautiful and complete. Except for the place of one brick in a corner. So people would go round it and wonder at its beauty and would say 'why was this one brick not placed?' He said, so I am that (cornerstone) brick and I am the seal of the prophets." (Agreed upon, Mishkat). Gentlemen! All the prophets are completely and absolutely bricks of one mansion of religion. And this house is perfect and complete. One brick was kept missing in the corner. If someone were to find a flaw in the entire house, his sight would go to this one empty place, otherwise the house was complete and very exquisite. When
---
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived, the mansion became perfect and complete in every way. Now no brick is to be laid, meaning no prophet will come. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sealed it.
وَجَبَتْ: became necessary, was established. بَيْنَ الرُّوحِ وَالْجَسَدِ: between the soul and the body.
Translation:- Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrated, he said, the noble companions asked "O Messenger of Allah! When was prophethood established for you?" You said "(At that time) when Adam (AS) was between the soul and the body." (Meaning his form had been created but the soul had not yet been breathed into him. This hadith is in Tirmidhi).
طِينَتِهِ: in his clay. (When Hazrat Adam (AS) was still in the state of clay).
Translation:- It is narrated from Hazrat Irbad bin Sariya (RA), he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated "Indeed I am the seal of the prophets in the presence of Allah while Adam was still lying in his clay." (This hadith is in Baihaqi and Mishkat).
*Bab: fi mu'jizatihi* Gentlemen! Miracles of prophets have been manifested since antiquity. The bringing of a miracle is not their own power. Through them, the power of Allah Almighty manifests. If there is some event that breaks the natural order of things entirely, it is called a miracle. When someone claims prophethood, he is asked for proof. If he brings any proof in a challenging manner, and it is something contrary to habit and breaks the custom, that is a miracle. If such a sign manifests from a pious saint of the community, it is called "Karamat". If it is from an ordinary believer, it is "Ma'unah". If it manifests from an infidel or disbeliever, it is "Istidraj" (respite). Meaning he will advance further in his disbelief and fall into deep ruin. The most important miracle of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the Holy Quran. What bigger miracle could there be than the fact that no one in the world has been able to produce a match for its smallest verse? Even today, the challenge stands. Many great intellects, eloquent and articulate people have passed in the world, but none have been able to respond. When big nations like America and Britain prepare a book of laws for
---
Allah Almighty has given me excellence over all other prophets in six things. (1) I have been given comprehensive words. (2) And I have been supported with "awe" alone. (3) And war booty has been made lawful (permissible) for me. (4) And the entire earth has been made a mosque (fit for prayer) and pure for me. (5) And I have been sent as a Messenger to all creation. (6) And prophethood comes to an end with me. Friends! Anyone who claims prophethood after Khatam al-Nabiyyin Muhammad Rasulullah ﷺ is a liar, a Dajjal (deceiver).
Friends! Nowadays there is an abundance of prophets. But there is a claimant of prophethood in every home. At this time, a black-bearded person is in front of us claiming prophethood. I asked him a few questions. The answer to all was zero. One person wrote and sent to me saying, "I am a prophet. You are the descendant of Siddiq-e-Akbar, if you believe in me, you will get the status of Siddiq-e-Akbar." My meetings with claimants of prophethood have been many and their ignorance has reached its peak. In "Osmania" (i.e., Osmania University) there was a professor. A student of knowledge also came who was a claimant of prophethood. I asked him, what thing do you preach? I am the renewer of the religion of Muhammad ﷺ. People evade the commandments of Islam. I remind them of the forgotten things of Islam. He said, for observing prayers and fasting "revelation comes". I said, "Say inspiration, do not say revelation." He confessed that "in the future I will not call myself a prophet".
إِنِّي إِذَا قَضَيْتُ قَضَاءً لَا يُرَدُّ وَإِنِّي أَعْطَيْتُكَ لِأُمَّتِكَ أَنْ لَا أُهْلِكَهُمْ بِسَنَةٍ عَامَّةٍ وَأَنْ لَا أُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ سِوَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَيَسْتَبِيحَ بَيْضَتَهُمْ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَنْ بِأَقْطَارِهَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ يُهْلِكُ بَعْضًا وَيَسْبِي بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا - (رواه مسلم) *Translation:- Hazrat Thawban (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty gathered the earth for me. Then I saw its eastern parts and western parts. And my Ummah's dominion will reach up to what was gathered for me. And I was given two treasures, the red and the white. And I asked my Lord that He should not destroy them by a general famine. And that He should not impose upon them an enemy from other than themselves who would violate their territory. And my Lord said, 'O Muhammad! When I decree a matter, it is not turned back. And I have granted you for your Ummah that I will not destroy them by a general famine. And that I will not impose upon them an enemy from other than themselves who would violate their territory, even if those from its regions gather against them, until they destroy one another and take one another captive.' (Narrated by Muslim)*
Words: *Zawa, Yazwi, Zawyan, Ziyyan*:- gathered, folded. Waw with shadda is also used. *Kanzain*: two treasures. *Ahmar*: red. Here gold is meant. *Abyad*: white, silver is meant. *Sanatin*: year, general famine. *Baidatun*: kingdom, country. *Yastabihu*: make permissible, make lawful. *Saba, Yasbi*: to take captive.
---
Where my Ummah's dominion will reach, up to there the earth was folded for me and I was given two treasures. Red and white i.e., gold and silver, and I prayed to Allah that the people of my Ummah should not all be destroyed in a general famine, and no enemy from outside of themselves should be given authority over their dominion and honor, such that he makes it lawful for himself. And my Lord said to me, "O Muhammad! When I decide something, it cannot be turned back. And for your Ummah, I have given you this that I will not destroy them in a general famine, and I will not impose an enemy over them who is other than themselves, who makes their dominion and honor lawful for himself. No enemy larger than the other will attack the whole Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ at once, destroy it, and lay waste to it. Even if people from all regions of the world prepare to gather against them. Yes, but some among them will destroy others and will take them captive. (Muslim narrated this hadith)

Translation:- Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) has narrated. He said that a few people from the Companions (RA) of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were gathered. During this, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appeared, and he drew so near to them that he could hear them. One of them said, "Allah made Hazrat Ibrahim a Khalil (intimate friend)." ---
And he said, "And He spoke directly to Musa." Another person said, "Then Isa is Kalimatullah (the Word of Allah) and His Ruh (Spirit)." And one person said, "Allah chose Adam, meaning Adam is Safiyullah." Then His Eminence came to them and said, "I have heard your conversation and also seen your wonder. Undoubtedly Ibrahim is Khalilullah and he is exactly like that. And Musa is Najiyullah and he is exactly like that. And Isa is the Ruh of Allah and His Kalima and he is exactly like that. And Adam is Safiyullah and he is exactly like that. Yes! I am 'Habibullah' (the Beloved of Allah) and there is no boasting in this. And on the Day of Judgment the 'Liwa-ul-Hamd' (Flag of Praise) will be in my hand. Under this flag will be Adam and everyone else except him. And there is no boasting in this either. I will intercede before everyone, and on the Day of Judgment my intercession will be accepted before everyone, and there is no boasting in this either. And I will be the first person to move the ring of Paradise. Meaning, I will knock on the door to enter. So Allah will open it for me and He will enter me into it, and with me will be the poor from among the Muslims (Fuqara-e-Mu'mineen), and there is no boasting in this. And among the former and the latter people, I am the most honored and respected before Allah Almighty, and I am not saying this out of pride either." (This hadith is written by Tirmidhi and Darimi both, and it is also in Mishkat)
