81. At-Takwīr

إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

(۱) جب آفتاب (کے نور کی چادر) لپیٹ دی جائے۔

(1) When the sun (its cloak of light) is folded up.

وَإِذَا النُّجُومُ انكَدَرَتْ

(۲) اور جب ستارے (تاریک اور) مکدّر رہوجائیں گے۔

(2) And when the stars become dim (dark and clouded).

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ

(۳) اور یاد کرو جب پہاڑ اڑتے پھریں گے۔

(3) And when the mountains are set in motion.

وَإِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ

(۴) اور یاد کرو جب گابھن اونٹنیوں کو کوئی پوچھنے والا نہ رہے گا۔

(4) And when the pregnant she-camels are abandoned (left untended).

وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ

(۵) اور جب وحشی جانور بھی (ہول قیامت کی وجہ سے) اکٹھے ہوجائیں گے۔

(5) And when the wild beasts are gathered together (out of terror of the Day of Resurrection).

وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ

(۶) اور (خیال رکھو) جب سمندر مشتعل کردیے جائیں گے۔

(6) And when the seas are set ablaze (set on fire).

وَإِذَا النُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ

(۷) اور یاد کرو جب تمام لوگ اکٹھے اور جمع کروئے جائیں گے۔

(7) And when all souls are coupled (and gathered together).

وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ

(۸) اور یاد کرو جب کہ زندہ درگور لڑکی سے سوال کیا جائے گا۔

(8) And when the girl buried alive is asked.

بِأَيِّ ذَنبٍ قُتِلَتْ

(۹) کس گناہ کی وجہ سے قتل کردی گئی۔

(9) For what sin was she killed?

وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ

(۱۰) اور یاد کرو۔ جب اعمال نامے کھولے جائیں گے۔

(10) And when the records (of deeds) are laid open.

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ كُشِطَتْ

(۱۱) اور یاد کرو جب آسمان (یا ابر، جابجا سے) کُھل جائے گا۔

(11) And when the sky is stripped away (or the clouds are parted from everywhere).

وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ

(۱۲) اور یاد کرو جب دوزخ مشتعل کی جائے گی (دہکائی جائے گی)۔

(12) And when Hell is set ablaze (and made to blaze fiercely).

وَإِذَا الْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ

(۱۳) اور یاد کرو ۔ جب جنت نزدیک لائی جائے گی (اور ہر ایک اپنی اپنی جگہ کو دیکھ لے گا)۔

(13) And when Paradise is brought near (and each one will be able to see his own abode).

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا أَحْضَرَتْ

(۱۴) ہر شخص جان لے گا کہ اس نے کیا کیا تھا۔

(14) Every soul will know what it has brought forward (of deeds).

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ

(۱۵) پس میں ان چلتے چلتے پلٹ جانے والے ستاروں کی قسم نہیں کھاتا (کیونکہ اس کوسب جانتے ہیں)۔

(15) So I do not swear by the receding stars (for this is known to all).

الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ

(۱۶) ایسے ستارے جو چلتے چلتے چھپ جاتے ہیں۔

(16) The running stars that hide (setting and concealing themselves).

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ

(۱۷) اور رات جب کہ اس کی تاریکی بڑھتی ہی رہے۔

(17) And the night when it darkens and advances.

وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ

(۱۸) اور صبح جب کہ وہ سانس لے (اور اس کی روشنی بڑھتی رہے)۔

(18) And the dawn when it breathes (and its light spreads and grows).

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ

(۱۹) بے شک یہ رسول کریم کا کلام ہے۔

(19) Indeed this is the word of a noble Messenger.

ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ

(۲۰) (وہ رسول کریم) بڑی قوت والے، صاحب عرش کے پاس کے بڑے مرتبے والے ہیں۔

(20) (That noble Messenger) possessing great power, held in high honour with the Lord of the Throne.

مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ

(۲۱) وہ واجب الاطاعت ہیں، خدا کے پاس امانت دار ہیں۔

(21) There obeyed, and trustworthy (in the presence of Allah).

وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ

(۲۲) اور تمہارے ساتھ رہنے والے (محمدﷺ) کچھ دیوانے نہیں ہیں۔

(22) And your companion (Muḥammad ﷺ) who lives among you is not at all mad.

وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ

(۲۳) اور انہوں نے صاحب عرش کے بریں کو (الوہیت اور عبودیت کے) ملنے کی واضح جگہ دیکھا ہے۔

(23) And he indeed saw him (the angel) at the clear horizon (the manifest place of meeting of divinity and servitude).

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ

(۲۴) اور وہ (یعنی جبریلؑ) غیب (کی باتیں تانے) میں بخیل نہیں ہیں۔

(24) And he (Jibrīl ʿalayhi al-salām) is not stingy (in conveying the tidings of the unseen).

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ

(۲۵) یہ شیطان مردود کا کلام نہیں ہے۔

(25) And this is not the word of an accursed devil.

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ

(۲۶) پھر تم کدھر (بک کر) چلے جارہے ہو؟

(26) Then where are you going (straying off to)?

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

(۲۷) یہ تو تمام دنیا جہان (والوں) کے لیے ایک (بڑی) نصیحت اور یاددہانی ہے۔

(27) This is nothing but a (great) reminder and admonition for all the worlds.

لِمَن شَاءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ

(۲۸) یہ نصیحت ہے تم سے ان لوگوں کے لیے جو راہ راست پر رہنا چاہیں (مستقیم رہنا چاہیں)۔

(28) For whoever among you wishes to walk the straight path (to remain upright).

وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ

(۲۹) اور تم صرف وہی چاہتے ہو جو خدا چاہتا ہے جو رب العالمین ہے (دنیا جہان کا پروردگار ہے)۔

(29) And you do not will except that Allah wills — He who is the Lord of all the worlds (the Sustainer of the entire universe).
