بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

105:1

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے ہاتھی والوں کے ساتھ کیا کیا (ان کو کیسی سزا دی)؟

Did you not see what your Lord did to the Companions of the Elephant (what punishment He inflicted upon them)?

105:2

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ

کیا ان کی تدبیر کو نا کام بے راہ و بے کار نہیں بنادیا۔

Did He not render their scheme futile and fruitless?

105:3

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ

کیا ہم نے اصحاب فیل پر اڑنے والوں (یا تیز دوڑنے والوں) کو ٹولیاں ٹولیاں (یا پرندوں) کو بھیجا (جھنڈ کے جھنڈ نہیں بھیجا)۔

And sent against them birds in flocks [swooping in groups, or swift creatures moving in formations, flock upon flock].

105:4

تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ

(یہ جماعتیں) سخت کھمد کی گولیوں سے ان کو (اصحاب فیل کو) مارتی ہیں۔

Striking them with stones of baked clay [pelting the Companions of the Elephant with hard pellets of clay].

105:5

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ

پھر ان کو (مار مار کر) گور بنادیا۔

And made them like [fields of] devoured stubble.
