بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

90:1

لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ

(۱) نہیں جی! میں قسم کھاتا ہوں اس شہر کی۔

(1) Nay! I swear by this city.

90:2

وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ

(۲) اور تم اس شہر میں اترے ہوئے ہو (اس میں رہتے ہو)۔

(2) And you reside in this city (you dwell in it).

90:3

وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ

(۳) اور قسم (یا شہادت) ہے (جنانے والے) باپ کی اور ان (بچوں) کی جن کو جنتا ہے۔

(3) And by the begetting father and that which he begets (his offspring).

90:4

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ

(۴) ہم نے انسان کو بڑی محنت و مشقت میں پیدا کیا ہے۔

(4) Certainly We created man in toil and hardship.

90:5

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ

(۵) کیا وہ خیال کرتا ہے کہ اس پر کسی کا بس نہیں؟

(5) Does he reckon that no one has power over him?

90:6

يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا

(۶) کہتا ہے میں نے خرچ کردیا ہے بہت سامال (فضرطلب)۔

(6) He says, 'I have squandered abundant wealth' (out of vainglory).

90:7

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ

(۷) کیا وہ خیال کرتا ہے کہ اس کو کسی نے دیکھا نہیں۔

(7) Does he reckon that no one has seen him?

90:8

أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ

(۸) کیا ہم نے اس کو دو آنکھیں نہیں دیں (کہ دیکھتا)۔

(8) Did We not give him two eyes (with which to see)?

90:9

وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

(۹) اور (کیا ہم نے اس کو) زبان اور دو ہونٹ (نہیں دئے)؟

(9) And (did We not give him) a tongue and two lips?
